CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- For the fifth time, Appalachian Power Park will accommodate a night of professional boxing as the West Virginia Power and Simmons Promotions stage the "Power Beat Down" Friday.
The six-bout card will begin at 8 p.m., with the gates opening at 7 p.m.
The main event will feature a contest for the vacant West Virginia middleweight title, pitting Alex Grady (9-2, 5 knockouts) of Cabin Creek against Cecil Youst (5-3, 2 KOs) of Gallipolis, Ohio.
"I'm excited to get a shot at the title and I'm ready to make sure it comes back with me to Cabin Creek," said Grady, taking a break from training for his first main-event fight.
Grady said he expects a classic toe-to-toe slugfest.
"He's about my height and he likes to bang, so it should be a good brawl," he said.
A coal miner by day, Grady said his job lends an advantage for him in the fight.
"I work underground in the mines, so I get in some valuable strength and endurance training while I'm at work," he said.

Also on the card is two-time "Rough and Rowdy" champion Wes Lane. The Elk River native will take on welterweight Jonathon Senquiz of Cleveland, who is making his pro debut.
Lane dropped a four-round decision in his professional debut.
"In the 'Rough and Rowdy' you go out and swing and hope you hit somebody," said Lane. "In the pros, they hit what they're aiming at. [The loss] showed me where I need to be at, and where I need to get to, to compete at this level."
Jason Pauley from Cabin Creek will make his pro debut in a cruiserweight bout against John Milam (0-1) of Akron, Ohio.
There will also be one female bout, featuring Valerie Defreitas (0-1) of Parkersburg, plus fights in the junior middleweight and light heavyweight divisions.
Tickets are on sale at the West Virginia Power box office at Appalachian Power Park. Ringside table seating starts at $50. General seating is $20 in advance or $25 at the gate.
