West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins on Thursday confirmed that his Mountaineers would play a two-game series with Ohio State beginning this coming season.
"We don't have a contract yet," Huggins said, "but [this year's contest] will be a CBS game.''
Ohio State won the NIT tournament last season, defeating Massachusetts 92-85 in the final, to finish 24-13. The effort followed an NCAA championship appearance in 2007, when the Buckeyes, led by center Greg Oden, fell to Florida by 84-75 in the finals. OSU won the Big Ten regular season and tournament that season.
Buckeye coach Thad Matta has also confirmed the agreement, saying OSU will host West Virginia on Dec. 27 in the Value City Arena in Columbus before visiting Morgantown's Coliseum during the 2009-10 season.
