CLARKSBURG, W.Va. -- John Manchin III, nephew of Gov. Joe Manchin, testified in federal court today that he hired two female escorts, one of whom performed oral sex on him.
"I remember one lady dancing, and another lady lap dancing, and I believe that's when the oral sex took place," Manchin said on the witness stand.
Manchin's testimony came during the trial of Donna D. Duelley, who is accused of running a prostitution ring from Morgantown.
Manchin, 33, also said he recognized his signature on a credit card receipt for $330 payable to Fascinations, the name of Duelley's escort service. The receipt apparently had no date.
The defense maintains that Duelley ran a legal adult entertainment business. If any of her independent contractors had sex for money, it was against company policy, her lawyers argue.
John Manchin is an administrator at the Manchin Clinic, a health clinic based in Farmington. The clinic opened a second branch in Marion County earlier this month.
U.S. District Judge Irene M. Keeley is presiding over the trial.
