HUNTINGTON -- A Huntington fourth grader has been arrested stemming from threats made at school.
The student at Southside Elementary was arrested at school Thursday after the most recent threat was made. School officials declined comment on the boy's whereabouts.
Cabell County Schools spokesman Jedd Flowers says the boy made three threats during the school year. One occurred on April 23, when he said he might bring a gun to school to shoot other students. The student received a suspension for that incident.
Flowers says counselors and a psychologist found the boy isn't a serious risk. Superintendent William Smith sent letters to several parents saying he saw no need to pull the student out of school other than the suspension he already received.
But parents went ahead and filed the petition Thursday in juvenile court and the boy was arrested.
