Habitat for Humanity recycling entire house
Parts will be sold at ReStore; new house to be built on site

DUNBAR, W.Va. -- Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

Officials for Habitat for Humanity hope to promote all three concepts with a house they're taking apart in Dunbar, piece by piece.

"Velvet crowbar; that's our motto," said Shawn Means, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Kanawha and Putnam counties.

EVERYONE should consider a stroll through our local ReStores. I was so pleasantly surprised! They now are my first stop before the Big Box stores. Anyone know who to contact about additional projects like this one? Sounds like it can be the answer to many problem neighborhood homes neglected and abandoned. Are you listening MAYOR JONES???

We recently bought a couple of new couches for our living room. We give HH ReStore a call and they came out and got the old ones. I'd suggest to everyone if you have extra decent pieces of furnishings to do the same if you don't already know of someone to give them too. It's for a great cause too, and you can take a portion of the value of them off of the years tax statement.

Thanks to anyone that has anything to do with Habitat for Humanity.

Kudos to Habitat for doing it right. We need to recycle everything we can.
