Mountaineers recharged, getting healthy

MORGANTOWN - Having had a week to recharge its batteries, West Virginia's football team appears to be in decent shape for its closing stretch of games against Louisville, Pitt and South Florida.

But that's not to say the Mountaineers (6-3, 3-1 Big East) don't have some health issues heading into Saturday's ESPN-televised noon game against Louisville (5-5, 1-4) at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. The fact of the matter is they are better off than they were before a week off, but seven extra days hardly makes up for three months of wear and tear since practice began.

"If you're not hurting now, you're not playing very good football. You haven't been hitting anybody very hard,'' West Virginia coach Bill Stewart said. "We're dinged up, they're dinged up, I'm sure the whole league's dinged up.''

I get it! They are going to put Brown in as a fullback in third and a yard inside the five yard line! I mean honestly the only thing sadder than this season is the season Michigan is having. Looks like we both got lemons.

Oh, and PS, Carolina EER FAN...the EERs are already bowl eligible. It's the BCS bowl that they need help with.

We want to get Pat White through 12 games? Ok, I get that, but what if by your over-concern for Mr. White's health, you, in turn, lose games. I think this is the coaching staff's issue. It's ridiculous. It's football and let Pat White play his game. Don't do to Pat White what Andy Reid did to Donovan McNabb (yeah, I said it), Coach Stewart and Mullen. Pat White is not a pocket passer. Have him roll out and let him make the choice on the field. That is when WVU wins games AND by big margins. All that needs to happen then is for our O-line to block and pancake the heck out of our opponents. GET IT DONE!!

Although Cinn won @ LU, their D-line had lots of trouble getting to their QB-more than they did with Pat- the Mountie D is in for a real test-win & the EERS are bowl eligible, lose and ut-OH.

"We don't want Pat White to get hurt.
Jarrett Brown and Jim Lewis are back.
Mike Dent isn't good, he's great."

Geez Coach Stewart, I guess we're ready for the brutal stretch run of the Big East conference!
Do us a favor. Just win the game.
