Partial WVU hoops schedule released

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The Big East has released the names of the league schools West Virginia University will play in men's basketball for the 2009-10 regular season.

In the league's third season of an 18-game league schedule, the Mountaineers will host Cincinnati, Georgetown, Louisville, Marquette, Pitt, Rutgers, Seton Hall, Syracuse and Villanova at the Coliseum.

The Mountaineers will play road games at Connecticut, DePaul, Notre Dame, Pitt, Providence, St. John's, Seton Hall, USF and Villanova.

The 18-game Big East format allows teams to play each opponent once and three teams twice. West Virginia will play Pitt, Seton Hall and Villanova twice.

WVU's complete basketball schedule will be announced in early September.
