WVU releases times for first games of 2008 season

West Virginia University football fans can make some wedding and party plans -- around their team's games.

WVU today released the game times for the first five 2008 Mountaineer football matchups.

The season-opener against Villanova at Mountaineer Field will kickoff at 3:30 p.m., and be broadcast by ESPN Regional television.

The next two games on Sept. 6 at East Carolina and Thursday, Sept. 18, at Colorado, will be at 4:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., respectively on ESPN.

The Sept. 27 Marshall game at Mountaineer Field will be played at 3:30 p.m. and televised by ESPN Regional, and the Oct. 4 home game against Rutgers will start at noon and will be televised by ESPN Regional.

Other games slated for television are the Auburn home game on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN, the Friday, Nov. 28 contest at Pitt on ABC and the Dec. 6 home date with South Florida to air either on ESPN or ESPN2.

West Virginia begins its 2008 preseason preparations when the players report on Aug. 1. The first practice will be held on Aug. 2.
