The Charleston Catholic boys and girls soccer teams finished fifth and No. 12, respectively, in the season-ending Region 4 rankings by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

The Fighting Irish boys, who finished with a 22-1-1 record and won the Class AA-A state championship, also received a vote in the national rankings. Catholic is the first AA-A boys squad from West Virginia to end the season in the regional rankings, according to Irish coach Keith Hutcheson. The Catholic girls (20-1-4) finished with a 20-1-4 mark and took back-to-back AA-A state championships.

Parkersburg (20-2-0), which won its second straight AAA boys state title, finished seventh in the boys regional rankings. University's girls team (23-0-2), which won its first AAA state title, was No. 10 in Region 4, which consists of Florida, Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia.
