Pritt's 4 RBIs leads Riverside past Capital

Emily Pritt drove in four runs with a pair of hits Monday to lead Riverside to an 11-3 prep softball win at Capital.

The Cougars (0-10) received two hits each from Kara Keeney, Dee Rossignol and Leighton Paranzino.

  • SC 8, HURRICANE 2: Chelsea Cobb allowed four hits and struck out 13 while rapping out two hits, including a double, and driving in three runs for South Charleston (4-0).
  • Morgan Holstein went 3-for-3 with an RBI for SC. Alex Furr pounded out two hits and scored both runs for Hurricane (2-8), and Maleah Walker fanned nine.

  • BUFFALO 6, CATHOLIC 0: Nicole Dingess worked a three-hitter and fanned eight with no walks for the visiting Bison (10-5). Brittany Williams went 3-for-4 for Buffalo, which scored three runs on throwing errors in the fifth. Ally Hoyer struck seven and walked one for Charleston Catholic (4-9).
  • ROANE 3, BRAXTON 0: Ashli Knotts fired a two-hit shutout and struck out nine with three walks, leading to a win for the visiting Raiders (10-3). All three runs for Roane scored on passed balls. Jenny Tonkin allowed one single and fanned nine for Braxton County (4-1), but walked six.
  • LINCOLN 2, MIDLAND 0: Shayla Owens pitched a one-hit shutout and Brianna Enochs hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh for the Panthers. Meredith Baisden doubled for the Knights' only hit.
  • SHERMAN 6, CLAY 1: India Stone pitched a one-hitter with 11 Ks and also doubled twice and drove in a run for the Tide (10-4).
  • Abby Smith allowed four hits and struck out nine for the Panthers.

  • POINT 2, SISSONVILLE 0: Emily Jones and Tessa Wyant combined to throw a two-hitter for Point Pleasant (8-4). Wyant also went 3-for-3 with a triple and two doubles and Melissa Darst was 2-for-3.
  • SCOTT 2, MAN 1: Rachel Holstein drove in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth and Holly Turley pitched a five-hitter for the Skyhawks (10-2). Tabby Johnston (3-for-4) led the hitting for the Hillbillies (6-2).
  • POCA 5, LOGAN 1: Miranda Linville tossed three-hitter and struck out 11 as the Dots defeated the visiting Wildcats.
  • Morgan Ball had two hits for Poca (3-0), and Emily Bilcox tripled for the Wildcats (2-1).
