Power's Polanco, Herrera headed to Futures Game

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Former West Virginia Power outfielder Gregory Polanco and current Power shortstop Dilson Herrera will represent the Pittsburgh Pirates on the World Team at the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game July 14 at Citi Field in New York.

Polanco played center field for the Power in 2012 before being promoted to the Bradenton Marauders at the beginning of this season. Polanco was again promoted to Class AA Altoona two weeks ago after recording a .312 batting average in 57 games with Bradenton.

Herrera is in his first season with the Power and has a .281 batting average, 68 hits, 35 RBIs and 44 runs in 61 games. He played for the South Atlantic League Northern Division All-Star team last week in Lakewood Township, N.J.

The All-Star Futures Game takes place at 2 p.m. on All-Star Sunday at Citi Field and can be seen live on MLB.com and ESPN2.
