I would like to know if "Aqualung" [Bill Dunn] was ever located.
I thought there was only one comic page in the newspaper, but then I read the Readers' voice comments.
I am an 82-year-old senior citizen and I read two newspapers every day. I get your paper so I can work your puzzle every day. I wish you would quit screwing up my paper by moving my puzzle to the sports section.
I see where the American Medical Association is backing the latest health-care reform bill that is going up for a vote [today] in the House. It tells me that it's no good if the AMA is backing it.
When is KRT management going to quit inconveniencing the public and print a schedule that their drivers could actually run?
This is to enlighten the person who claimed that the purpose of Americorps was to indoctrinate our youth to be liberals while using tax money: After graduating college, our granddaughter chose to work for Americorps in a public health clinic in California. Your tax dollars paid her very little for her work, but because she was already a so-called liberal, she wanted to invest a year of her time helping the less fortunate. Americorps provided this opportunity as they do others to young people who also wish to be helpful.
For your information, the public option for health-care insurance is no more or less than what millions of Americans already have. Namely Medicare, Medicaid, the VA and state plans like PEIA. We would benefit by having a choice between this public option and insurance companies.
I think it's funny that the same people who fussed about Bush twisting the Constitution for everything are now doing the same thing to force Obamacare on us.
To the people who are convinced Obamacare will mean lower costs for health care: Exactly who do you think will be paying for it? The taxpayers will be forced to give more. So much for Obama's no-taxes-for-the-middle-class promises.
I see where AARP has endorsed the health-care bill. Like many others I will be cutting up my card and returning it to them as I cancel my membership. They do not represent me.
If Fox News is taking on the United States of America, then so am I. I dislike where this country is today, but I hate the direction the Democrats are trying to take it.
To the reader who indicated that since the federal fiscal year begins in October that most of last year's deficit was brought on by Bush: Please understand the facts. This had nothing to do with the stimulus bill. The stimulus bill occurred during the Obama administration, not the Bush administration and most of this deficit occurred during the year that the expenses occurred.
How many high-risk people have to die before the federal government steps in and begins fairly distributing the flu vaccine?
Those who support killing babies are traitors to humanity and mankind. Obama and Clinton are among those I'm talking about.
Speeding on the crooked roads of Pocahontas County is just as deadly as drunken driving.
If labor unions are so great, then why don't union people hire union workers when they have things to do at their own houses?
I just called the Kanawha Health Department to see when and where those 65 and older with health problems could get the H1N1 vaccination and I was told they couldn't get them. Looks to me like they've already started pulling the plug on Grandma.
Newspaper bags are a good place to store a dirty diaper. Take the newspaper out, slide in the dirty diaper and toss it in the trash -- no smell. Of course, you have to take your trash out daily. Try it. It's great.
How many more super cells are going to pop up in the United States before we wake and take charge of the situation?
I'd like to send all the liberals to Cuba, Russia and Australia. I would like to see all liberals kicked out of this country.
State retirees don't always choose to retire. Often they are forced out of their jobs.
If Tri-State Gaming Center is losing so many millions of dollars due to the smoking ban then why are they having a job fair to hire more people?
I'm calling about metro government. The taxpayers in Kanawha County don't have enough money to pay for the wishes and wants of a few. I wish Brooks McCabe and others would just let it go.
No American president that I know of has ever had so many critical issues to deal with as President Obama. I pray that his loyal staff and those who truly care about our citizens will succeed in rescuing our nation from its unprecedented troubles.
To the reader who comments about how gratifying it was to have Republican governors elected in Virginia and New Jersey: It had nothing to do with Obama and his policies. It was all about the bad economy in those two states. I'm glad that we are finally back on track after eight years that will be described as the worst presidency ever.
Anyone who believes that the unemployment rate is truly only 10 percent in this country is off their rocker. There is no possible way that 10 percent is accounting for all the unemployed people we have now.
The Bush supporter who commented about all the lies and crimes that the Democrats kept harping about seems to have forgotten that Iraq was in no way connected with 9/11. George Bush, Dick Cheney and all those in his administration did nothing but lie when it came to the Iraq War.
