Why can't we keep our mountaintop removal in West Virginia? What better place to put a windmill?
Why is it legal for police cars to have their windows tinted darker than 35 percent? Whoever is putting the inspection stickers on those cars is breaking the law.
To the venter with the mean boss who mistreats employees: call your Human Rights Commission; they will help. We are not living in the 1960s.
South Charleston needs a sportswriters' museum like they need another gung-ho cop -- not at all.
Senators Byrd and Rockefeller are standing up for West Virginia coal miners. They are standing against a totally unnecessary destruction of our mountains, water, homes and communities. Underground mining provides more jobs than mountaintop removal. The millionaires just don't want to "waste" any of their millions on providing safe conditions for underground miners when they can get coal for less money with their criminal, cruel and destructive habits.
The president is showing his true colors and they are not red, white and blue.
I believe that Megan Williams, the woman who claimed she was assaulted with racial overtones, has lied and committed perjury. She should be arrested and be put through the court system just like she did to those other folks.
Credit card users listen up: If you are using your credit cards for little things like fast food, you are being rude to those behind you as well as opening yourself up for identity theft.
Republicans gave us the politically mismanaged invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan, the great recession, and they turned a budget surplus into a deficit and wanted Social Security payouts tied to the stock market. Why would anyone listen to their ideas on universal health care?
Don't misinterpret Luke 3:5, which says, "Every ravine will be filled up and every mountain shall be brought low." This means in the great and terrible day of the Lord, not mountaintop removal.
It seems that folks who are obese are constantly being picked on. Now the state workers might be required to pay extra for health insurance if they are obese. Not everyone who is overweight is overweight because they choose to be. Some have autoimmune disorders, etc., that require us to take medications which cause us to gain weight. People should let up on this topic and give us the benefit of doubt.

Someone said that 66 percent of the people of the United States don't believe that Obama should have won the Nobel Peace Prize. Where did this statistic come from, Rush Limbaugh? Glenn Beck? And you're right, there is no sense in throwing insults at George Bush; he should be in prison.
What part of unhealthy and suicidal do smokers not understand?
With all the talk of discontinuing the use of coal, I don't understand why we aren't promoting natural gas more. At one time we had a natural gas station in Kanawha City. Why can't we go back to this? We should also promote solar energy more.
Why is the Public Service Commission making such a big deal out of Mountaineer Gas dropping their prices this winter after they have already allowed AEP the biggest raise in West Virginia history? They also allowed the petroleum companies to raise the price of gas any time they want as high as they want, so the little that Mountaineer is giving back doesn't even make a difference.
It's always a great day to be a Mountaineer fan, but it's never been better than it was on Saturday. The way that the fans responded to Connecticut by giving them a lengthy standing ovation was spectacular and made me tear up with pride for the respect and love they gave. They showed class and dignity and deserved the special helmet sticker that ESPN gave to them.
The front page of the Gazette Saturday highlighted two examples proving how superstitious the public is. One highlighted witchcraft and the other priestcraft, both of which are contrary to the laws of God and deceitful hocus-pocus. Of the two, the latter is a greater blasphemy since "pet blessing" is a fraudulent pretense and Christianized paganism.
Does anyone exiting eastbound I-64 at Institute know the meaning of the word yield? That means that you must give the right of way to drivers exiting westbound who want to get over in the right lane to go toward Nitro. Understand now?
Bowing to and shaking the hands of our enemies while cutting back support to longtime allies is not the way to restore our country's good name to the rest of the world. Obama is hurting our image more than helping it.
I cannot believe that people are still defending President Bush. He and his administration brought the people of the United States of America to our knees. We are so deep in debt, yet he allowed U.S. companies to be moved to other countries with no regard for the American people. We are in dire straits. A lot of people have lost their jobs, their cars and their homes. Don't defend him.
Regarding the Gazette's editorial, "Pistols: quadruple danger," I would like for the Gazette to add to its reporting of shootings if the victim or shooter is a concealed permit holder. The Charleston figures interest me more than speculation of Philadelphia or Sweden.

You know who else called for criminalizing (and killing) people for admiring "unacceptable" political philosophies...
...Stalin <cough>, Pol Pot <ahem, cough>, Hitler <cough, cough>...
You are in some esteemed company, Julius88. Hope you are proud.
