  •   To the person who wants the United States to be feared instead of loved and said love gets you nowhere, actually love gets you to heaven. Being feared gets you to hell.

  •   Why does the Kanawha Mall not have any more lights in their parking lot? It is dangerous and it is very dark over there in the evening.
  •   Just what blunders did the White House commit that caused Hamas to lob rockets on Israel?
  •   Regarding the new Huntington/Charleston transit bus, are they going to go anywhere near the veteran's hospital? If you do please put it in the newspaper so people will know what is going on.
  •   The Republicans and Wall Street are really leaving a mess for Obama.
  •   I was reading in the paper and they were talking about advice for hangovers. My best advice would be not to drink.
  •   I just read a vent listing several of Bush's failures. Most were false, as usual, but one really made me laugh. Blaming Bush for the Katrina disaster? You have got to be kidding me. He had nothing to do with the weather. He had nothing to do with thousands of people living below sea level for decades and refusing to evacuate when warned.
  •   The phone company sucks for air, having everyone dial 10 digits just for a phone number all of a sudden. Wonder who the brains behind that was?
  •   To the person who said he did not want to support the autoworkers because they make $75 an hour, if you go to factcheck.org you will see that they make $28 an hour. If you add in the cost of their benefits, it will be approximately $38 per hour. The $75 was a figure that a conservative think tank, who opposed the bailout, came up with.
  •   I faintly remember that the governor or the attorney general was going to check into the high prices of gasoline last summer and/or fall. What were their findings?
  •   It won't be long before Joe Biden sticks his foot in his mouth again. Hopefully it won't be on some foreign affairs trip. Maybe then all you people attacking Sarah Palin will admit she would have made a better vice president.

From what I remember being taught in school, we all share the same civil rights. I'm subject to drug testing on my job, so why shouldn't teachers be? Heck, I don't even work directly with your children. IMO, teachers who take their responsibility for the education and well-being of our children seriously wouldn't mind submitting to drug-testing and would actually encourage it to eliminate the "weeds" they KNOW exist in our school systems. When teachers challenge school authority, supposedly they are just standing up for their civil rights. However, the times my children have challenged school authority, they were accused (by teachers) of being defiant. I don't think teachers even recognize the real-life lessons their behaviors are teaching our children.

curiousme, thanks for the update. Maybe the girl just had her bible open to the gospel story and the teacher saw where Jesus was asked, "Lord I believe, help thou my unbelief."

"The Lord moves in mysterious ways, His wonders to perform..."

RD 70- the principal took care of the situation-the teacher tried to blame it on the establishment clause...but the principal told the teacher that under no circumstances was she ever to tell a child not to read her Bible. The teacher also suggested to the parent that she send her child to a private christian school. This teacher sends her own son to an area private christian school. Why does she send her own child to a private christian school but yet she is an atheist? What does she know that we don't know? This comment didn't go over to well either..lol...the principal said the teacher was a liberal and the teacher was the only one she had received complaints about this school year(Aug)...but she also said it took about 2 yrs to get rid of a teacher.
