Wildlife officer loses alligator at show-and-tell
Advertiser

PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. -- Officials say a Florida Panhandle Fish and Wildlife officer lost a 5-foot alligator after bringing it to his daughter's school for show and tell.

Searchers scoured a wooded area surrounding the school Friday afternoon. The alligator jumped out of the man's vehicle Friday morning. The animal's mouth was taped.

Fish and Wildlife Spokesman Stan Kirkland says alligators have "amazing'' jumping ability and that allowed it to escape.

For anyone interested in this article, I have just read on another site that this gator has been found in a pond and authorities are attempting to capture it.

That poor alligator. His mouth is taped shut and he will starve. This is cruelty to animals. I hope the gator is found safe. This officer is responsible and should be reprimanded for not having control of this animal.
