South Charleston man stable after shooting

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A South Charleston man was recovering after being shot in the lower back early Friday.

Detective J.D. Gray of the South Charleston Police Department said Michael Ealm, 31, was walking through an alley between 10th and 11th avenues at about 2:30 a.m. when he was shot. Gray said Ealm ran to Seventh Avenue, where police found him a short time later.

Ealm was taken to CAMC General Hospital, where Gray said he was in stable condition on Friday. Police are investigating.
