CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Police are investigating after someone made off with part of the till at a Nitro bar.

Capt. W.E. Javins of the Nitro Police Department said the woman running the bar at the Center Tavern on Bank Street went to the restroom about 11 p.m. Tuesday. When she got back, she discovered that someone had removed all the $20 and $10 bills from the cash register, but had left the $5 bills and $1 bills.

When she demanded that the money be returned, all three patrons who were in the bar at the time fled, Javins said.

Police are investigating, but have not yet made an arrest.
