CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A London man was in critical condition after being shot in his apartment late Thursday.
According to Lt. Bryan Stover of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department, witnesses said two men burst into the apartment of Franklin Proctor, 23, sometime before 10:30 p.m. The men ordered a woman at the apartment down on the floor, then shot Proctor several times before fleeing.
Stover said Proctor had already been taken by private car to Montgomery General Hospital when deputies arrived. He said Proctor was in critical condition there Friday morning. He had been transferred to the intensive-care unit at CAMC General Hospital by Friday afternoon.
Sheriff's Department detectives and officers from the Kanawha Bureau of Investigation are investigating.
