CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Kanawha County sheriff's officials are not releasing the name of a man who was carjacked in Elkview late Thursday.

Lt. Bryan Stover of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department said the 37-year-old Elkview resident was at the Elkview Car Wash at 100 Little Sandy Road about 11:50 p.m. when he was jumped by an unknown person who drove off in the vehicle.

Stover said the victim was washing his 2006 Ford Expedition when he was attacked. The victim was hit in the head and face and knocked to the ground, but was not seriously injured.

Stover said the victim noticed a small white car drive around the car wash shortly before the attack.

The Expedition has been listed as a stolen vehicle, and the investigation continues. Anyone with information about the carjacking is asked to call 304-357-0169.

Yes all crimes are in Kanawha county are on the rise, who knows who will be the next victim. We will read about another crime of robbery etc. in tomorrows edition of this newspaper.

These criminals know that the courts will not punish them. Its basically (when caught) its in one day and out the next day.

An ounce of lead posioning (CWP- S&W 38 Special) is worth a pound of cure for these criminals that have nothing to lose. Just be prepared to do it.
