Three Boone firefighters arrested on arson charges

MADISON, W.Va. -- Three volunteer firefighters were arrested Friday for allegedly setting a building on fire in Madison earlier this week.

Dustin Vance, 19, of Foster; Gerald Waters III, 19, of Madison; and Larry Nunnery III, 19, of Danville, were arrested, according to the state Fire Marshal's Office. The three are members of the Madison Volunteer Fire Department.

The fire at 10 C Ave. in Madison started at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday, according to the Fire Marshal's Office.

All three face charges of first-degree arson and conspiracy. They were arraigned in Boone County Magistrate Court and released after posting $20,000 bond each.

This is an uncommon occurence. Those of us in the volunteer fire service look down upon these type of mutant idiots. Percentage wise, bad apples are a very very small fraction of the volunteer fire service and we usually weed them out early on. These 3 morons must have slipped through. Please, don't judge all of us by a few.
