South Hills car theft, break-ins investigated

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Charleston police are investigating the theft of a car and several car break-ins in the same South Hills neighborhood.

Sgt. Tony Hazelett of the Charleston Police Department said three cars were broken into on Oakmont Road and Ridgemont Road during the night of Jan. 26. Money and music CDs were taken from two of the vehicles, and a wallet was stolen from a third.

That same night, a 2013 Subaru was stolen from Oakmont Road, Hazelett said.

Police have no suspects in the break-ins and theft. Anyone with information is asked to call the CPD's Criminal Investigation Division, at 304-348-6480.
