Wedding planning event set for Bridgeport

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- WV Weddings magazine has announced its 2014 WV Weddings Extravaganza, an informative session for brides that this year features a special guest. The event will take place Jan. 19 at the Bridgeport Conference Center.

This year's keynote speaker is Monte Durham, host of the TLC program "Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta." The West Virginia native who says his favorite brides are those who are open to suggestions. Durham will speak during a luncheon at Bridgeport Conference Center.

The theme is vintage travel, and guests will enjoy a showcase of vintage travel décor as well as other inspiring ideas. "This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to get advice from the best of the best before your big day," says WV Weddings founder and editor Nikki Bowman. "We are honored and excited to have Monte, as well as our many other industry experts, participate in our unique event."

As part of the event, guests will be invited to attend sessions on topics from lessons learned from a past WV Weddings bride to ideas for décor and pre-wedding events such as bachelorette parties and rehearsal dinners.

Misti Sims of Little Black Dress Events will share tips for budget-minded brides, while Bowman will provide photography pointers for anyone wondering what poses and angles work best. Nico Spalon will also reveal insider secrets to looking your best on the big day, complete with demonstrations.

The 2014 WV Weddings Extravaganza will run from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. and admission is $10. Early registrants will receive a limited-edition canvas swag bag.
