Humanities Council sets Feb. 1 grant deadline

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- The West Virginia Humanities Council says Feb. 1 is the deadline for grants ranging up to $20,000.

The council is the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. The matching grants are offered to nonprofit organizations that support education programming such as lectures, exhibits and panel discussions.

Major grants range from $1,500 to $20,000. Fellowships also provide stipends of $2,500 to scholars. Finally, mini grants are intended for the production of brochures, small museum exhibits and planning for more complex projects.

Grant guidelines and applications are available on the council's website, www.wvhumanities.org.
