Man pulls gun during fight with brother, police say
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- A Boone County man is charged with wanton endangerment after police say he pulled a gun during a fight with his brother. He fired the gun five feet away from his mother, police said.
The incident happened in the 3100 block of Fifth Avenue in Charleston Friday.
Charleston Police say Joshua E. Hawk, 27, of Madison, was in an altercation with his brother, William Hawk, after he threatened his mother, Mary Hawk.
During the fight, Joshua Hawk allegedly pulled a .40 caliber handgun from his waistband and pointed it at William Hawk, who was able to push the gun away.
William Hawk pinned Joshua Hawk's arm to the ground, at which time Joshua Hawk pulled the trigger. Their mother, Mary Hawk, was about 5 feet away when the gun fired, according to police.
