Three Dunkin' Donuts stores planned in southern W.Va.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Dunkin' Donuts is coming to southern West Virginia.
Little General Stores Inc. plans to open three stores in Beckley, Hurricane and Princeton over the next year.
Little General president Greg Darby says the company hopes to build more stores in Braxton, Cabell, Fayette, Kanawha and Nicholas counties.
Beckley-based Little General signed an agreement with Dunkin' Donuts in April to open three locations in West Virginia. All three will be full-service stores.
"All the ones we do -- whether they're freestanding or added onto the c-store -- they'll have the full menu of donuts, coffee, beverages and everything,'' Darby said.
Darby says the agreement allows his company to develop stores across central and southern West Virginia that aren't currently served by a Dunkin' Donuts franchisee.
"It's a growing franchise that's really popular,'' he said. "They've done well in northern West Virginia and I think they'll do well here too.''
Currently, there are two Dunkin' Donuts stores in Fairmont, one in Parkersburg and one in Morgantown.
Little General operates 97 convenience stores and 78 restaurants across West Virginia.
