Marion County man faces abuse, child porn charges

By Staff reports

FARMINGTON, W.Va. -- A Marion County man faces multiple felony counts after allegedly sexually abusing two young boys and filming them in sexually explicit positions.

Sgt. A.W. Scott of the West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit arrested James Paul Kendall, 31, of Farmington, Monday and charged him with 10 counts of using a minor to film sexually explicit conduct; five counts of possession of child pornography; six counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child under the age of 12; and two counts of sexual abuse by a parent, guardian or person of trust, according to State Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Baylous.

Baylous said Scott's investigation revealed that Kendall abused two 5-year-old boys, forcing them to pose for pornographic pictures. Kendall also allegedly choked the boys as he sexually abused them.

Kendall had hundreds of photos and videos of child pornography, Baylous said.

Kendall was arraigned Monday in Harrison County Magistrate Court. He was in the North Central Regional Jail on Tuesday, with bail set at $1.2 million.
