Assistance program needs food, sundries and money

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. -- Christ's Kitchen, St. Albans Community Food Pantry and the Emergency Assistance Fund, under the umbrella of St. Marks Jubilee Center, are in need of items and monetary donations. Following is a list of items especially needed at this time:

Christ's Kitchen: Pine-Sol, bleach, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins, liquid hand soap, any nonperishables (except vegetables), hot dog and hamburger buns, white bread, canned chicken, cereal, Kool-Aid, coffee and powdered coffee creamer.

St. Albans Community Food Pantry: Nonperishable food items such as boxed macaroni and cheese, rice and peanut butter. Nonperishable breakfast items such as pancake mix, cereal and oatmeal.

Emergency Assistance Fund: Aids with emergencies such as utility cut-offs. Financial contributions are greatly needed. The fund is administered by St. Mark's Jubilee Center and the St. Albans Ministerial Association. Pastors from different denominations rotate each Wednesday from 9:30 to 11 a.m. to aid neighbors in need. This is a walk-in only program located in Christ's Kitchen.

To contribute financially to Christ's Kitchen and the Food Pantry, make checks payable to St. Mark's Jubilee Center. For donations to the Emergency Assistance Fund, make checks payable to St. Mark's Jubilee Center Emergency Assistance Fund.

All donations to Christ's Kitchen may be dropped off Monday through Thursday between 8:30 a.m. to noon, and Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Food Pantry deliveries may be made on Mondays and Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
