Unity of Kanawha Valley will host Open Mic 4 Kids! at 6:30 p.m. Friday at 804 Myrtle Road, Charleston. The event is for performers ages 5 to 15. Sign-ups begin at 6 p.m. The event is free. Bring whatever talent you would like to share: playing an instrument, singing, dancing, telling a joke, showing a piece of art, magic, or just talking into a microphone. Attorney General Darrell McGraw will have a consumer advocate at the University of Charleston from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday. The advocate will answer questions about consumer protection issues, take complaints and process free credit reports for staff, students and members of the public. Women's Business and Training Center and WISE are seeking donations for Baskets of Hope for women involved in domestic violence across the region. Baskets contain personal necessities such as a toothbrush, toothpaste, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, a brush, a one size fits all nightgown/pajamas, chocolate, flameless candles, flashlight, socks, lotion, bed pillow, other special items.
