FUTURE EVENTS

The West Virginia Learning Disabilities Association: will sponsor presentations designed for parents, educators and individuals with learning disabilities at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Charleston Civic Center. Sessions, which are free and open to the public, will be in Room 206. WVLDA board members, along with Appalachian Reading Center staff members and students, will host a session about technology tools for students. At 11:30 a.m., the organization will hold a members-only luncheon. Featured speaker will be Alfred D. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor several different hikes on Sunday. Meet at 1:30 p.m. to carpool from Ohio and Randolph to Pick-A-Hike/Pick-A-Leader.

Torchbearer Alpha Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the home of Donie Argento. Linda Wible will give the program aided by Linda Eggleton. Bring toiletry items to stuff Christmas stockings for Hospice.

Kanawha County Parks and Recreation's Finance/Golf Committee has canceled its meeting scheduled for Monday.

Kanawha Pastoral Counseling will present the annual Jim Dent Dinner on Tuesday at Embassy Suites. The Flying Humorist Ralph Hood will speak. Tickets are available online at www.dentdinner.com.

AARP Chapter 543 will meet at noon on Tuesday at the Baptist Temple, entering on Morris Street. There will be a covered dish lunch. The speaker will be Linda Bunn with AARP, who will give information on AARP programs. All seniors are welcome.

The Region III Workforce Investment Board of Kanawha County will meet at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the conference room at Goodwill Industries of the Kanawha Valley, 209 Virginia St. W. The agenda for the meeting is available for review at the WIB office.
