WE CAN Mentoring Program will have its second annual Pirate Treasure Hunt and Ice Cream Social at 6:30 p.m. July 19 in the lakeside playground parking lot at Coonskin Park. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative ice cream topping brought to the party and for the treasure hunt. In case of rain, the party will be moved to the David Child Shelter. Marmet Recreation Center will hold a dance from 7 to 10 p.m. July 21 featuring Sharpshooter. Tickets are $8. The concession stand will be open and hot dogs, barbecues and drinks will be sold. All dancers and nondancers are welcome. Call Barry Pauley at 304-949-9692 for information.

Harpers Ferry Park's living history staff will present federal artillery demonstrations July 21 and 22 at the park. Visitors are invited to witness the power of the federal artillery that defended the Union garrison during the siege of 1862. A military camp will be open for visitation on the Bolivar Heights Battlefield from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Artillery demonstrations are scheduled for 1, 2 and 3 p.m. For information, call 304-535-6029.

Magazine/Garrison Avenue and Area Reunion Group will meet for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. July 21 at the Kanawha Boulevard Shoney's. The group meets on the third Saturday of each month. For information, call David Radford at 304-595-1090 or 304-342-1095.

Capital High Band Boosters will have a yard sale, hot dog sale and car wash July 21 on the school campus. The yard sale will begin at 7 a.m. and the car wash and hot dog sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
