MADISON, W.Va. -- A Boone County man was in the hospital Thursday afternoon after another man allegedly shot him in the side.
The victim was shot just after 4 p.m. Thursday on Bell Road, just north of Chapmanville near the Boone-Logan county line, according to a Boone County 911 dispatcher.
The suspect fled the scene of the shooting in a white four-door vehicle, but State Police tracked the suspect down and arrested him shortly before 5:30 p.m. The victim was transported to the Logan Regional Hospital, but the dispatcher was unclear how serious his injuries were. Neither man's name was released.
The Logan County Sheriff's Department is investigating.
