Training offered to social service groups helping military families

CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Members of the American Red Cross, National Association of Social Workers and others are sponsoring a workshop to help social service providers who want to help military families.

"Ready, Set, Go!" runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 10 at the Ramada Inn, 400 2nd Ave., South Charleston. The program is designed to educate social service representatives about the problems faced by military families and the programs, groups and support services available to them, according to Red Cross spokeswoman Karen Allen.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Training is free but limited to 40 participants.
