Medical Management Professionals is hosting a community food drive through Nov. 20 in Charleston. MMP is encouraging its staff and the public to donate dry and canned food items to bins located at its office at 3508 Staunton Ave. between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Laureate Alpha Psi chapter of Beta Sigma Phi sorority will meet at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of Joanne Gregory, 1334 Morningside Drive. Gregory will present her program, and a dinner of soups, salads and desserts will be served.

Dr. Morgan's Complete Health Center, a chiropractic and wellness center at 135 Seventh Ave., South Charleston, will host a series of wellness and nutritional seminars at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the center. There is no charge. The topic this Tuesday will be "Boosting Your Immune System." For information, call the office at 304-768-6106.

The State Law Library will present a free informational session on the tax implications of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, commonly known as the stimulus bill, at a brown bag lunch at noon Nov. 10. Cassell Pulliam of the Internal Revenue Service will explain new tax credits created by the bill. The workshop will be held in Conference Room E-315, on the third floor of the East Wing of the Capitol. Metered parking is available on California Avenue and adjacent to the Culture Center. The Tri-County YMCA will celebrate National Adoption Day on Nov. 21. Those who have been adopted, have adopted, or are in some way closely associated with adoption will receive a free guest pass to the Tri-County YMCA facility Nov. 21 at 200 Carls Lane, Scott Depot. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is taking orders for full-color, festive cards, which are available at $10 for a package of 15 cards (plus shipping and handling charges). The winning holiday cards were designed by Wish Kids. Proceeds from the card sales will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Pennsylvania and Southern West Virginia.
