Bethany students to manage $1M investment fund
Advertiser

Bethany College students will put classroom theory to work as they manage and try to make money on a $1 million endowment.

The McCann Family Student Investment Fund is among only a few student-led investment funds at small colleges nationwide.

It was created by alumnus Robert McCann of Madison, N.J. He's chief executive of UBS Wealth Management and vice chairman of Bethany's Board of Trustees.

McCann launched a similar project at Texas Christian University, where he earned his master's degree.

Students will get support from an expert advisory council as they research stocks, execute trades and report regularly on their results.

Half of their profits will be reinvested. The other half will support the McCann Learning Center at Bethany.
