Why are Senators Byrd and Rockefeller not standing up for the coal industry in West Virginia? If we lose mountaintop mining then West Virginia is down the tubes. Where is the voice of the United Mine Workers, Cecil Roberts? He certainly is suspiciously quiet about all this.

Who should you call to report someone who mows their grass and then dumps the clippings on someone else's property?

Turn to the first chapter of the book Romans in the Bible and read. Then tell me what is wrong with our nation and the world. Look what is ruining our children and what is put on TV. I think sex belongs in each person's own bedroom, not blasted on TV. They also have terrible language and blaspheme God's name.

I don't believe that the violence that children perpetrate on other children is the fault of an alleged government takeover of parenting. It is caused by fractured families, usually an absent father, a lack of values, poverty, drugs and easy access to guns.

I don't know why people are so upset about Appalachian Power getting a raise. Mountaineer Gas is the one that I'm concerned about. They raised my monthly budget $50 this month. If they get another increase it will probably go to $75.

Don't you just love it when you call a business for information and they tell you to go to www.com when you don't even have a computer?

The blatant lobbying on TV by the coal companies during the Marshall/WVU game was an insult to all West Virginians.

I am sick of reading about Jon and Kate. Who cares about them anyway?

For all you people who say you can't find work: When I look through the ads I see plenty of jobs. I think people are just lazy.

I wonder how Consol Energy can get off scot free with killing all the fish in that stream? If I had gone over there and killed fish using dynamite I would have been put in prison.

I urge those who oppose universal health care to read the article on health care written by a Canadian in the November issue of Reader's Digest. The opposition is spending $1.2 million a day to fight health care for United States citizens.

For the record, the state road commission closed the Burnsville rest areas on I-79 March of 2008 and just recently reopened them. The Bridgeport rest area was closed Sept.14 and on Oct. 17 and there is still no equipment or reconstruction. They are still closed. That is really nice for leaf peepers and those traveling to see football games.

If all state employees can't have state cars, then no state employees should be able to.
