KANAWHA TRAIL CLUB HIKE: 1:30 p.m. in Spring Hill Cemetery. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Regroup at the mausoleum parking lot. Hike is more than 3 miles through the historic cemetery park. Difficulty: easy. Walk on paved roads or in grass. A shorter version is available since the hiking route is in loops.
HARVEST CELEBRATION: Fayetteville Memorial Building. Visitors can sample the state's food, agriculture and crafts. Part of Bridge Day weekend activities. Residents can enter baking, quilting, produce-growing and other competition. Sponsored by the state Department of Agriculture.
36TH ANNUAL GEM, MINERAL, FOSSIL AND JEWELRY SHOW: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., South Charleston Community Center. Admission is $3.50 per person; children under 12 admitted free with a paying adult. Parking is free. A mini-mine and crafts for kids, gem trees, cabochon demo, scrimshaw, wire wrapping and educational videos will be featured. TRANS-ALLEGHENY LUNATIC ASYLUM HAUNTED HOUSE: Dark to 10 p.m. at the former mental hospital in Weston. The tour includes the children's ward, administration offices and the basement. DUNGEON OF HORRORS: 7 to 9:45 p.m., former West Virginia Penitentiary, Moundsville. Tours depart every 15 minutes, although some times might be sold out. On the tour, you'll be locked in a cell, travel through a dungeon of horrors and face the possibility of being lost in a maze.
