Mason County man killed in crash

LEON, W.Va. -- A Mason County man was killed early Sunday when the sport-utility vehicle in which he was riding overturned.

Timothy Ray Roberts, 36, of Leon, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened shortly after 2 a.m. on W.Va. 62 in Leon, according to the Mason County Sheriff's Department.

Roberts was riding in a 1997 Ford Explorer being driven north by Teresa L. Roberts, whose age and hometown were not provided. The SUV ran off the right side of the road, struck some rocks along the road and overturned, according to the sheriff's department.

Mason County paramedics and the Leon Fire Department also responded to the accident, which is still under investigation.
