CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- Natasha Light, who was in Brian Scott Good's truck when Good and Charleston police officer Jerry Jones were shot on Sept. 13, was arrested with her husband Monday evening after both allegedly assaulted State Police troopers.
State Police said they learned that Jeremy Light, 27, Natasha's husband, had failed to register as a sex offender and was staying at a relative's apartment on South Pinch Road in Elkview, according to State Police.
Jeremy Light failed to update his residential address after moving out of an apartment in Chesapeake, according to a criminal complaint filed in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
State Police Senior Trooper L.W. Price and Sgt. L.G. O'Bryan went to the South Pinch Road residence and spoke with Malena Meadows, who told them that the Lights were in the back room.
O'Bryan knocked on the door. No one answered, so police entered the room and saw the Lights lying on the bed.
O'Bryan walked to the bed and said "State Police, wake up" and nudged Jeremy Light in the shoulder, according to the complaint. Upon waking, Light elbowed O'Bryan in the leg. He was immediately arrested for battery on a police officer.
When her husband was handcuffed, Natasha Light allegedly grabbed her husband and started kissing him.
The troopers told her to stop and let go of her husband, but she only yelled, "You're not taking him," according to the complaint.

The troopers told her to stop and let go of her husband, but she only yelled, "You're not taking him," according to the complaint.
They said they had to physically remove Natasha Light from her husband and told her that she was also under arrest, after which she yelled "no" and became "belligerent and profane," according to the complaint.
According to the complaint, the troopers forced her to get out of the bed for fear she could be hiding weapons under the blanket under "consideration of the recent violence she was involved in," referring to the Jones-Good incident, according to the complaint.
While Natasha Light was being led out of the apartment, she allegedly started kicking backwards, striking O'Bryan in the legs, while yelling profanities at the officer, according to the complaint.
While at Magistrate Court, Natasha maintained her innocence in the incident. "I didn't do nothing tonight," she told Magistrate Carol Fouty. "I shouldn't even be here."
She further alleged that she was "getting treated awful because of what happened. ... It wasn't my choice to be in the truck that night."
Even though she was arrested by State Police troopers, she said she was being unfairly targeted. "They're not very professional, the Charleston police," she said.
She was charged with battery on a police officer, resisting arrest/obstructing a police officer and disorderly conduct, all misdemeanors. She was taken to South Central Regional Jail on a $1,500 cash bond.
Jeremy Light was charged with failing to register as a sex offender, a felony that could carry up to five years in prison, and a misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer. He was also taken to South Central Regional Jail on a $6,000 bond.
