New health-care project gives northern W.Va. options
A new health-care partnership in north-central West Virginia should give people without insurance more options for affordable care.
FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- A new health-care partnership in north-central West Virginia should give people without insurance more options for affordable care.
The Manchin Clinic, which has sites in Fairmont and Farmington, announced Thursday it's partnering with Primary Care One of Wheeling.
Primary Care One offers patients unlimited access to preventive and routine medical care, so they won't delay treatment and then get sicker.
Patients can get X-rays, lab tests and more -- without appointments, co-payments, deductibles or denial for pre-existing conditions.
Dr. John Manchin says it won't solve all the state's health-care problems, but it's part of the solution.
The Legislature approved creating pilot programs for prepaid preventive care and no-frills coverage plans in 2006.
