Unity of Kanawha Valley: will have its Open Stage and Coffee House hosted by Ron Sowell at 7:30 p.m. at 3102 Blaine Boulevard. Local musicians are welcome. Performers sign up at 7 p.m. Music begins at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $5. Admission for performers, seniors and children is $2. Various coffees, teas, soft drinks, and homemade treats are available at a small cost.

Kanawha Valley Poets: will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday at Dunbar Public Library, 12th Street and Myers Avenue. Bring a poem by your favorite poet. For information, call Ron Buckalew at 304-343-8434.
Unitarian Universalist Congregation: will offer a tai chi workshop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday at 502 Kanawha Boulevard. Master Ron Wilkerson and guest Sifu William Fleetwood will lead the workshop, which is appropriate for both beginners and advanced students. The workshop will include a break for lunch. Cost is $40 per person and prior registration is not necessary. For information, call 304-395-7671.
Ladies Auxiliary of VFW Post 5578: will sponsor a blood drive from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the VFW Post 5578, Washington Avenue and Third Street, Madison. For information, call Susie Wade at 304-526-2962 or 1-800-409-5498, ext. 2962.
St. Albans Historical Society: will meet at 2 p.m. Sunday at the William P. Burdette Memorial (Historical Society Building) adjacent to the Depot. A program will be presented on how to complete a National Register nomination form. Refreshments will follow.
South Charleston Museum: will present Belgian glassworkers and the founding of South Charleston on Saturday. The film, "Belgian Travelogue" will be shown free of charge at 3 p.m. in LaBelle Theater, 311 D St. Grand opening of the Belgian glassworkers exhibit will be held next door in the Interpretative Center. A reception will be held at 6 p.m. in the LaBelle Theater. For information, call 304-744-9711.
Winfield High School: will have the Generals' Tri-County Poker Run on Saturday beginning at the school, 3022 Winfield Road. Registration is from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Last bike out is no later than noon. Last bike in is no later than 4 p.m. The cost is $20 single/couple. Non-riders food only is $10 per person. First stop is Sheetz in Milton, then Apple grove Market on W.Va. 2, Exxon Food Mart on W.Va. 2/ W.Va. 62; Exxon Tiger Mart W.Va. 62, Buffalo; Final stop is Winfield High. Plaques will be awarded. Door prizes and 50/50 drawing held. All proceeds benefit WHS Softball Batting/Pitching Building Fund. Call Lisa Nelson at 304-543-3242.
Alzheimer's Association: will sponsor a scrapbook party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Hansford Senior Citizens Center. Donations will be taken at the door. Donations also will be sought on Sunday at the Wal-Mart in Southridge Centre.
Kanawha Trail Club: will sponsor a hike at 11:30 a.m. Sunday. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. Re-group at noon at Kanawha Trail Club Lodge. Hike is about 3 miles on Polecat/Middle Ridge/Lindy Trails with moderate hills. Leader is Ron Cockeram. Picnic and meeting at 2 p.m. Bring a dish to share. Hot dogs and drinks will be provided.
