BRADLEY, W.Va. -- Two people died in a single-vehicle collision early Saturday in Raleigh County, police said.
According to a news release from the Raleigh Sheriff's Department, the victims were traveling north on W.Va. 16 in a 1989 BMW on Price Hill in Bradley when the BMW veered off the right side of the road, went up an embankment and struck a utility pole.
The car flipped, partially throwing both the driver and passenger, who had to be extricated by rescuers from the Bradley-Prosperity and Mount Hope fire departments. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.
The wreck occurred at 2:56 a.m. Saturday, a Raleigh County dispatcher said.
Speed was a factor in the accident, the news release said. The names of the victims were not available Sunday.
