Advertiser

LILLY, W.Va. -- Officials have identified a Summers County man who drowned in the Bluestone River while fishing with a friend.

Twenty-nine-year-old Michael Keith Jennings of Jumping Branch was riding on an inner tube, fishing in the river near Lilly with a friend in a raft.

Chief Ranger Gary Hartley of the New River Gorge National River says the two became separated downstream late Saturday afternoon. Jennings' friend called for help after he found his friend's inner-tube with no sign of the fisherman.

Rescue teams worked until dark on Saturday. Divers found Jennings' body Sunday afternoon.
