Kanawha County Public Library will offer a free computer class titled "E-mail: Setting Up a Gmail Account" from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. today and from 1:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 16 in the library's Technology Center. Participants should be able to type and operate a mouse with relative ease. Call 304-343-4646 to register. Class size is limited.

FUTURE EVENTS

Kevin Cogar Jr. Alumni Memorial Poker Run will begin with registration at 10 a.m. on Saturday at TJ's Lounge, U.S. 60, Hico. The run will benefit the Airman Kevin Cogar Jr. Alumni Memorial Scholarship. Prizes will be awarded for Best Hand, Worst Hand and door prizes. Bikes depart around noon. The stops include Drifters in Glen Jean; Ole Timers in Mount Hope, where food will be provided; and Deb's Party Club in Rainelle, also with food. The ride returns to TJ's Lounge for a cookout at 6 p.m. Cogar, a 2003 graduate of Oak Hill High School, died while home on leave from active duty in Iraq. Kanawha Trail Club will sponsor a hike at 1:30 p.m. Sunday on Ansted Rail Trail. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets. The hike is about 4 miles to the bottom of the Hawk's Nest tram and back. The easy trails feature views of the falls along Mill Creek. Stop afterward for ice cream at the Ansted Dairy Bar. For information, call 304-343-3779.

 Clay Center will provide a directed tour of its current exhibit, "An All Consuming Passion," at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Ninety-three artworks are on view from 12 collections from the Charleston and Huntington areas. The exhibit includes art from the 17th through the 20th centuries by such noted artists as Hans Hoffman. European, American and African cultures are represented. Several works never before viewed publicly are included. The public is welcome.
