McWhorter family: Noon, July 26 at the McWhorter United Methodist Church in McWhorter. Descendents and friends of pioneer Henry McWhorter are invited to the 82nd annual reunion. Lunch will be provided by members of the church. Entertainment and discussion of family business will follow.

Elk Creek Reunion: 10 a.m., Aug. 2, Paradise Island, previously known as Sixteen Islands, located on the right before the turn off to Elk Creek, W.Va. 80. Follow signs. Bring photos from the 1950's and earlier. T-shirts will be available for $10.

Gauley Bridge High School Class of 1952: 11 a.m., Aug. 15, Fayette County 4-H Park, Shelter No. 6, Beckwith. Those who attended GBHS during the '40s and/or '50s as well as spouse or family members are also invited. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be furnished. Bring a covered dish.
