ELKINS, W.Va. -- A summer full of concerts and workshops at the Augusta Heritage Center gets under way Monday at Davis and Elkins College.

Director Joyce Rossbach says activities are themed this year, starting with Cajun-Creole Week and Early Country Music.

Cajun-Creole instructors will lead classes in dance, music and cooking, while participants in Early Country Music Week will study legends like Gene Autry, Merle Haggard and Hank Williams.

During Blues Week, they'll work with Louisiana Red, who has played with other famous bluesmen from B.B. King to Muddy Waters.

There's also Irish-Celtic Week, Bluegrass Week and Old-Time Week.

Courses are offered in everything from basket weaving and stone masonry to stained glass.
