West Virginia residents can comment on a state pilot project that will expand voting by mail in elections.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. -- West Virginia residents can comment on a state pilot project that will expand voting by mail in elections.
The Legislature earlier this year passed a bill that calls for the selection of up to five municipalities of any size to conduct their entire election by mail instead of in person.
The Secretary of State's office says interested communities would be required to provide information on issues such as ballot security and drop boxes, and on previous election turnouts and costs.
The bill also allows municipalities of fewer than 2,000 residents to conduct early voting by mail instead of in person.
The public comment period ends July 27. The proposed rules are available for viewing on the Secretary of State's Web site.

What does it matter who we vote for? West Virginia and the national Democratic leadership proved in the last election that it matters not who we choose to represent us. It matters who greases the dirty palm of political power players.
Anyone in Congress representing you? Or just representing their own gluttonous interests?
I will vote because women were beaten and force fed and starved so that I could. But I know it doesn't really matter. I will vote with my eyes closed next time. Because, after all, Who Cares what the people think??????????
For Military personnel, invalids, shut-ins, disabled, hospitalized, etc., the only viable option is to permit them to vote via the Internet and/or a PC via a request for an Absentee Ballot. An Absentee Ballot mailed to a Military person or a verbal request from said invalids, shut-in, etc. for two (2) Poll Worker to bring their Laptop PC to their place of residency and upon verification of said persons Voter Registration they be permitted to “cast their vote”.
And to insure the integrity of said “vote” it could automatically be transmitted and recorded at the County Clerk’s office and/or the Secretary of State’s office. Once recorded in two (2) places there is no possibility of multiple voting or any other fraudulent acts.
