Libbey Owens Ford Retirees: will meet at 11 a.m. July 13 for lunch at Shoney's in Kanawha City. Family and friends are welcome. Call David Radford at 304-595-1090 for information.

Arthurdale Heritage Inc.: will celebrate the founding by Franklin Delano Roosevelt's administration of Arthurdale in Preston County 75 years ago as the nation's first subsistence homestead project. The New Deal Festival on July 11 will feature historic exhibits, hands-on workshops, antique car and hay wagon rides, a homesteader panel discussion, a 5K race/2-mile walk, music, crafts, food and more. A group photo of all attending will be taken at 3 p.m. Festival admission is $5. A breakfast will also be held at the Arthurdale Community Presbyterian Church from 8 to 10 a.m. July 11, serving biscuits and gravy and other foods for $5. Visit www.arthurdaleheritage.org. ;

Kanawha County Public Library: will offer a "Jump-Start Your Job Search" program for those looking for a new job. The program will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 1 in the John V. Ray Room, Main Library, 123 Capitol St. A representative from the Workforce Investment Board of Kanawha County will present a workshop on resume preparation and job skills. The program is for adults and registration is required.
