The Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority: will meet at 11 a.m. Friday in the employee lounge of its central office, 601 Brooks St. The administrative staff and board members of the authority will discuss the levy. For information call 304-345-2312.
The Charleston-Kanawha Housing Authority Board of Commissioners: will meet at 1:30 p.m. June 29 at 1525 Washington St. West.
The American Red Cross: will sponsor blood drives from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Dunbar Mountain Mission Church, 605 Dunbar Ave., Dunbar; from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Marmet Health Care, 1 Sutphin Lane, Marmet; and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at St. Francis of Assisi Elementary, 525 Holley St., St. Albans. The Charleston Donor Center at 4501 MacCorkle Ave., Charleston, is also open from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Fridays. All presenting donors at the Charleston Donor Center on Mondays and Tuesdays in June will be entered to win a $100 gift certificate to Town Center Mall.
The AUS Church,: 429 Third Ave., South Charleston, will present the premier of "The Shadow Effect," at 1 and 6 p.m. June 27 at the church. The movie trailer can be viewed at www.TheShadowEffect.com. Amira Nagi of Samadhi Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Troupe: will teach belly-dancing classes at the Samadhi Studio beginning June 30. All classes are on Tuesdays, with intermediate at 6:10 p.m., beginner at 7:10 p.m. and troupe at 8:10 p.m. Cost of the six-week session is $60. The studio is at 2731 Main St., Hurricane.
