FUTURE EVENTS
SOAR, Retired Steelworkers Local 5668, will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the local union hall below Ravenswood. Hot dogs, sauce and buns will be furnished. Bring a favorite salad if you wish. St. Albans Parks and Recreation and St. Albans Partnership will present Movie Night at the Alban at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the newly restored historic Alban Theatre, Old Main Street in St. Albans. The film will be "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," rated PG-13. A concession stand will be open.
The West Virginia Quarter Horse Association will sponsor an all-novice show, an American Quartet Horse Association-approved show, Friday at Winfield Riding Club Arena, Winfield. The WVQHA will also sponsor an American Quarter Horse Association-approved show Saturday and Sunday at the Winfield Riding Club Arena. For information on either show, call David C. The American Red Cross will sponsor the following area blood drives - 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Calvary Church of the Nazarene 606 Lakewood Drive; 2 to 7 p.m., June 22, Christ Church United Methodist Church, 1221 Quarrier St.; 1 to 6 p.m. June 23, Eleanor Community, 901 Roosevelt Blvd., Eleanor; and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23, West Virginia State Police Headquarters, 725 Jefferson Road. The Charleston Donor Center at 4501 MacCorkle Avenue S.E., Charleston is open for donations from noon to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Fridays. All presenting donors at the Charleston Donor Center on Mondays and Tuesdays in June will be eligible to win a $100 gift certificate at Town Center Mall.
East Bank Middle School Pioneer Band will sponsor its Night of Soul and Blues fundraiser from 6 to 11 p.m. July 17 at Beni Kedem Shrine Center. Music will be provided by Big Planet Soul and jazz pianist Jay Flippin. Catering will be by Blues BBQ. Space is limited and tickets must be ordered by July 6. Tickets are $35 per ticket or $60 per couple. To order tickets, mail payment along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to: Soul and Blues, East Bank Middle School Band, P.O. Box 897, East Bank, WV 25067. Make checks payable to EBMS Band. Tickets are non-refundable. All proceeds benefit the East Bank Middle School Pioneer Band.
