  • CHILDREN'S ART FEST: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Along Ninth Street in Huntington. Free. Children's Art Festival Extravaganza features activities for children 12 years old and younger, including print-making, book making, finger printing, tie-dye art, sculptures, a children's community mural, along with performances by the Cabell County Public Library Puppets, Jeslyn Performing Arts Center and Huntington House Music and Sidewalk Art Sale.   • STREET FAIR: 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., United Way grounds, corner of Court and Smith streets. Sponsored by Senior Corps Programs of United Way volunteers. Features yard and craft sales, hot dog/bake sale, Jupiter Jump, face painting, Dunking Booth, carnival games and cakewalk. A quilt raffle will be held. Proceeds benefit the Foster Grandparent and Retired and Senior Volunteer programs.
  • CAMC HEALTH FEST: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., Charleston Civic Center. Blood work runs from 7 a.m. to noon; prostate exams run from 7 to 10:30 a.m.; Free physicals for middle and high school athletes will be held from noon to 2 p.m. New cardiac and diabetes screenings are available. Many displays will be set up to promote health and safety. Most screenings are free. There is a minimal cost for screenings requiring blood work.
  • KANAWHA TRAIL CLUB HIKE: Beginning at 6 a.m. Greenbrier River Trail. Carpool from Ohio and Randolph streets and regroup at Seebert parking area. The hike is approximately 10 miles. On the fifth section, Park personnel will shuttle hikers back to the starting points and then participants will hike back to Seebert. 
  • SUMMER COOKING CLASS: 1 p.m., Macy's Court. Chef Leonard Bailey will use produce from The Purple Onion at Capitol Market to produce a summer menu including: watermelon salad; broccoflower couscous, curry oil and balsamic vinegar; and Greek salad with summer vegetables.
